The British Home was founded in 1920 by the Daughters of the British Empire (DBE), of which approximately 500 members throughout the Midwest continue to provide leadership and financial support. The DBE is also the founding body of three other retirement living centers in the United States. Originally, The British Home was created for elderly British immigrants; today, we welcome older adults of all nationalities.

Just as we have extended our reach to serve a greater range of seniors, we have likewise extended our reach into the surrounding community. The British Home is well known in the area, thanks in part to the connections we sustain with our neighbors. Today, we have an unparalleled reputation, distinguished by unsurpassed resident satisfaction and unheard-of staff longevity.

We have listed links to a few of these neighbors, as well as to topics of general interest to seniors. Of course, we also have a lot of information we’d like to share face-to-face, so we hope you’ll visit us soon. Just click here to contact us.
